Aix-en-Provence, or just Aix (pronounced "Axe"), is a city in southern France in the region of Provance. The central parts of Aix are from the time of the Romans, with mazes of alleyways and squares. On each square or place, no matter how small, there is always a fountain. On the main street, Cours Mirabeu, there are many outdoor cafes and restaurants, always filled with people. There are many tourists and you hear many languages on the streets. Many probably come from one of the many language schools located here.
