Nuremberg is in the German state of Bavaria. The city has completely grown together with Fürth, and with Erlangen, these three cities form a triangular metropolitan area: Metropol region Nuremberg. Nuremberg was practically completely destroyed during World War II, but when rebuilding attempts were made to recreate the city's structure from the Middle Ages.
