Vancouver, capital in province British Columbia, is truly a multicultural city. 52% of the inhabitants have another first language than the official English. There is a large Chinese and Asian population. Another signifying aspect of the city is the high growth in population. It's estimated that in 2020 2.6 million people will live here. That the city has been rated the third best city in the world to live in probably helps to attract possible new inhabitants. The city was named after British adventurer Captain George Vancouver. It was named in 1886 but already 4500-9000 BC it is believed that people lived in this location. Gay life is hot, both politically and socially. Everything from gay sports to a wild night on the town is on offer.
