Montpellier is situated 10 kilometres from the Mediterranean in the region of Languedoc-Roussillon, about 150 kilometres west of Marseille. It's a university and industrila city, but also an important centre for tourism. Two rivers flow through Montpellier, Lez and Mosson. It has a typical Mediterannean climate. You go shopping in the old part of the city, packed with nice shops, cafes and restaurants. If you want to keep an eye on what's going on, Place de la Comédie is the place to be.
