Borås is traditionally the centre of textile and mail order in Sweden. It's located in the forests of Västergötland and was founded in 1622 for the peddlers and travelling vendors. Borås is the hometown of singer Magnus Carlsson, as well as Swedish eurovision wiz Christer Björkman. Tourists are wise to visit Borås art museum and the facilities of RFSL who hold regular party and café nights. RFSL was formed already in 1971 and in 2005 Borås was chosen the gay friendliest city in Sweden.
