Karlskrona is located by the sea and has one of Sweden's most beautiful archipelagos. 1 650 islands, islets and skerries are attractive for swimming, as well as boating. In June every year a big market is held. In the city itself, located on the island Trossö, there are modern shopping centres, as well as picturesque quarters with cafés and small boutiques. Karlskrona is the centre of telecom and IT industry and one of Sweden's foremost technical universities is located here.
