Festivalen er et nedslag i aktuel performance- og scenekunst. Den viser værker af Mischa Badasyan (Rusland), Groundfloor (Rumænien) og Gertjan Franciscus + LVM (NL).
Udover forestillinger omfatter festivalen artist talks og et oplæg.
Festivalen løber over tre dage og består af aftenarrangementer.
Festivalen er kurateret af Michiel Tange Van Leeuwen, Gritt Uldall-Jessen og Jørgen Callesen.

About the festival

The International Performance Art Festival 2015 is launched and held at Warehouse9, a Copenhagen-based performance- and multimedia gallery. The festival will run from Thursday the 26th and end Saturday the 28th of February ’15 with a closing party, hosted in corporation with the Danish queer feminist movement, Kapow Collective.
The festival offers a selection of current and international performance and stage art, and gives the audience the opportunity to see performance shows by Mischa Badasyan (Russia), Gertjan Franciscis van Gennip (the Netherlands) and GroundFloor Group (Rumania) with performance artists Lucia Mărneanu and kata bodoki-halmen in the lead.
With this selection, the festival seeks to explore the connection between art and politics and present’s different performance pieces, which in their own individual way insist that art can be both art work and political action. In addition, the pieces will encourage the audience to reflection and question what “politics” mean.
The festival also includes other activities such as artist talks (an opportunity for the audience to ask questions to the artists about their works), a lecture by PhD Annelis Kuhlmann (Aarhus University, Denmark) and Queer Art Lounges, where the audience can discuss the different events over refreshments.
