I veckan offentliggjorde tv-bolaget ABC namnen på de som ska dansa i tv-succén i höst. Bland deltagare som Ricki Lake, David Arquette och Queer Eye For Straight Guy:s Carson Kressley finns alltså Chaz Bono.
Chaz är programmets första transexuelle deltagare och hans medverkan har fått Internet att koka av bigotta kommentarer.

Allt detta hat har fått mamma Cher att gå i taket och redan dagen efter offentliggörandet av Chaz som tv-stjärna så skrev sångerskan på twitter:
”This is Still America right? It took guts 2 do it” skrev Cher och tillade att hon stöttar sin son i allt han gör:
”Mothers don’t stop Getting angry with stupid bigots who (mess) with their children!”

Chaz själv håller låg profil fram till seriestarten den 19 september och låter morsan sköta snacket. Han är förutom danstävlingen aktuell med den Emmynominerade dokumentären Becoming Chaz där hans könsförändring skildras.
